Tempo Traveller vs Bus vs Urbania vs SUV: Which Should You Book?

The most common question we get is simply: "which vehicle do I need?" The honest answer is that it comes down to three things — how many people are travelling, how much luggage you're carrying, and how far you're going.

Tempo Traveller vs bus rental: a Tempo Traveller (9 to 26 seats) is more manoeuvrable and better for hill routes and narrow city lanes, while a full-size bus (32 to 45 seats) makes more sense once your group crosses 30 people and you're mostly on highways. For groups in between, a Tempo Traveller is usually the more comfortable, cost-effective choice.

Urbania vs Tempo Traveller: a standard Tempo Traveller and an Urbania both fall in a similar seating range, but the Urbania is the more premium option — a higher roof, better suspension, and a more modern cabin, typically seating up to 20. If budget allows and the group values comfort on a long trip, Urbania is worth the upgrade; for shorter, budget-conscious trips, a standard Tempo Traveller does the job well. A luxury Tempo Traveller (leather recliners, better audio, sometimes a bigger luggage rack) sits between the two on price and comfort.

SUV vs Tempo Traveller for a family trip: for a single family of 4-7 with normal luggage, an SUV (Innova Crysta, XUV700, Fortuner, or similar) is faster door-to-door and easier to park than a Tempo Traveller. Once you're combining two or more families, or carrying more luggage than an SUV boot can hold, a Tempo Traveller becomes the more practical and often more economical option per head.
